NOTE: If you intend to signup as a volunteer, it is suggested to fill out both the volunteer form and also do the attendance form. This is because volunteers are selected and attendees are FCFS. If you are chosen as a volunteer, that will override your attendance submission. Attendee tickets cost $30 and Volunteer tickets cost $15. Attendees/volunteers must pay within 24 hours of receiving an invoice. We are not offering refunds. Please let us know if you need more time before paying!

NOTE: All donations/payments should be paid via Paypal fnf. Donations to CHIMK will help us run future events, seeing as we’re not for profit and are trying to provide events that are safe and accessible to everyone. Donations to the Design Museum will help their mission. They’ve helped us run some of our events free of charge. They also have a great mission supporting Chicago’s Artists and various social causes. Upon donating to DMOC, please leave a note that says “ChiMK sent you” etc…

Event Information

This meetup has two objectives: to test new security protocols to help protect future meetups and help raise funds to run future events. Due to a bad apple or two at our last event, we've been forced to beef up security measures for all future meets. We won't speak to exactly what these measures are yet, but we can confirm that there will be a check-in & check-out process similar to what was instituted at the end of our last meet. Attendees and donors will receive an internal priority pass to purchase tickets to the summer meetup (where most of the fundraising will go to).

Location - Design Museum of Chicago (Expo 72, E Randolph St #72, Chicago, IL 60601)

The Design Museum of Chicago has generously let us use their space for the meet. The museum relies on grants and donations to operate so if you would like to make an additional contribution, please visit their official donation page here.

Parking/Transportation - There is little street parking near the venue but you can use SpotHero to book all-day parking in nearby garages for $15-20. Just be sure to adhere to the booked time for the smoothest experience. The Lake Station or Washington stops will get you the closest to the venue by subway or Millennium Park stop if you go by bus. Folks traveling from out of town should be considerate of inclement weather and plan accordingly. If there is severe weather anticipated, we will re-evaluate as needed and send out an announcement via email and on Discord of cancellations or postponements.

Food/Drink Policy - No food is allowed in the venue, but water will be provided by our sponsor, Liquid Death Mountain Water. Check the #food-discussion and #chicago-recommendations channels on the chicagomechkb Discord for places to eat and drink in the area!
